la femme, la beaute

quelle journee

i'm so tired . . . it's not even 8pm and i want to go to bed. today was overwhelming. i had a serious breakdown meltdown freakout before noon. first day of fashion week - bright and early i woke up to film "dinner with the band" featuring Rufus Wainwright for IFC. that was interesting enough but on my walk back, i found out that a photo shoot ive been working on had been cancelled, i also didnt get a position that i had been waiting to hear back from AND the worst news of all . . . Alexander McQueen died. this is so devastating and truly a tremendous loss - what a creative being . . . so sad. i tried to write something about this when i first found out, but i couldn't find the words - i still can't. he will be remembered fondly and deeply missed. there are very few designers of his generation that are even close to as avant garde as he was ..... so sad. spring 2008 was one of my most favorites of his collections (below). i also strangely became quite fond and intrigued by his hoof shoes from last season. Poor Alexander . . . you never really know just how much someone else is suffering. RIP. x

tout a fait charmant

bastien bonizec, what a DREAM BOAT. i love redheads.

underlined

"that is the basic problem. you're waiting for me, im not there. i arrive. i enter the room. that's when i really start to exist to you, but i existed before that. i had thoughts. i may have been suffering. so the problem is to show you alive, thinking of me - and at the same time, to see me alive by virtue of that very fact."

"You said Mickey Mouse was a Fascist"

i absolutely loved this film. a slightly dark comedy about class and politics, set in early 1970's paris - the story is seen and told through the eyes of a feisty, adorably witty little parisian girl.
